My prior experience with Twitter is nothing like how I am using it for this class. I have never had a social media site that is just for professional or networking purposes. I am enjoying seeing real content from organizations instead of adds or clutter on my main feed. I am also able to read new findings or information from credible sources in an informal setting. This twitter will fit in very well with the LinkedIn I made for the next assignment.
I am so excited that I learned how to embed a calendar and the creative commons. This makes my website look more official and adult. It has taken me a while to get used to the WIX editing site, and there were many times that I got frustrated with the tasks or edits. Next time, I would make sure every page has the same background and banners that are consistent. This template could be used as my official website in the fall.
Assistive and adaptive technologies support learners by adjusting the learning experience to include their specific needs. I think it is very important that at a young age, students are able to obtain a sense of educational independence even if their form is different than others. No student is the same, and all teachers need to be educated and confident in their ability to adapt the lesson to all types of learners. In the arts, it is a bit easier because it is more subjective work and there is no wrong answer. It is also very hands on and movement based so students are able to use all of the different types of learning techniques. I also think the biggest shift currently is in wording and education. Instead of "disability" it is "accessibility" when I am talking about wheelchair seating. Also, we say learning challenges and differences instead of working with negative connotation like difficulties or disabilities. We must encourage all students that with the right help and tools, they are capable of learning like everyone else.

Hannah, I really really like the set up of your website! In terms of CRAP, I think you hit the nail on the head! Your contrast was really well done with using a white background and then using darker colors for the text. I especially liked the pops of color that you added for some of the headings. The repetition of your font was very thorough. You also used similar repetition in the images for the headings. Even though they were all different pictures, the colors and themes were spot on! I really liked the centered alignment of your page! This made it feel very clean and organized. In the way of proximity, I thought that our page was very well organized and broken up. There were not large blocks of text and it made finding a certain section very easy.
ReplyDeleteOverall, the design of your website was really visually pleasing! It looked very professional (especially with the addition of your resume!) and I would definitely want to be in your class. And I would also feel confident as a parent that you know what you are doing!
I really like the colors contrasting on the front page of the website. As soon as you come in the front page stands out with all the different bright and darker colors that are shining. There's the bright red that stands out well and then the yellow color that also stands out from the dark grey and darker blue colors. The alignment of everything is extremely well thought out. Everything of importance is centered on the page for you to see. Nothing getting in the way of anything else and each page has the same uniform alignment more or less which looks good too. The repetition of the colors and the fonts and the headings on each page really make the website. The nice font blue and yellow headings for each little section really make them stand out and make me want to pay attention to that section. The proximity of everything is done well. There is not too much wording going on on the page at one time but there's also not too much blank white space as well. Overall the website looks extremely professional. Like it was actually done by a professional. I love all the different colors and headings and fonts used throughout the website.
