     I had never heard of Diigo before. I like how groups can use Diigo to shortcut any research or articles that would normally take hours to find or look through. I also like being able to see other peoples' comments and notes on different sites as a way to peer research or sift through information quickly. One thing that I wish Diigo had the ability to do is create citations of the articles or websites. When I am working on massive projects, it is often confusing to sort through multiple different sites in terms of research, annotating, and citing. If it was a platform that did all three things, I would use it every day.      As a Florida theater teacher, there is a conference in the fall that all the teachers go to in Orlando. I am so excited to be able to attend with my mom and other teachers across Florida.      My prior experience with Twitter is nothing like how I am using it for this class. I have never had a social media site that is just for professional or networking purposes. I am enjoying seeing real content from organizations instead of adds or clutter on my main feed. I am also able to read new findings or information from credible sources in an informal setting. This twitter will fit in very well with the LinkedIn I made for the next assignment.      I am so excited that I learned how to embed a calendar and the creative commons. This makes my website look more official and adult. It has taken me a while to get used to the WIX editing site, and there were many times that I got frustrated with the tasks or edits. Next time, I would make sure every page has the same background and banners that are consistent.      While on the FSUS website, I noticed a stark difference between the elementary teachers' websites and the high school theaters' websites. For younger kids, there is a lot more color and child based images. On the upper level websites, there is either no information or just the syllabus and an email address for the teacher. This is because the parents are more likely to look at the elementary websites than the high school ones. As an arts teacher, I want to incorporate more color and excitement into my website while still providing all of the information relevant to my class.      I am actually very proud of my website I created for this class and another class last semester. I am glad I was able to revise my original website because now I feel like there is more efficient material and information on it for people to access. To be completely honest, I am not a fan of Diigo. I do not think it is aesthetically pleasing or easy to understand. Also, I am not a fan of how it dictates my googling 24/7. It is a good place to keep things, however, it does not cite the sources we find. If they had an MLA citation tool or something of that nature, I would use it religiously. I do a lot of research papers in my theater classes, and having to keep up with sources is extremely tedious. I do not want to have my sources in many different places (Diigo, RefWorks, etc). I wish there was one concise tool to use. With blogging, I have had to do it for a few classes, and I find it interesting for specific purposes. For my personal life, however, I do not like it because I would rather write it down in a journal and not put my thoughts or deep secrets onto the internet. I also have a problem with remembering to blog or journal, so consistency is key. I find that physically writing it out helps me remember to do it instead of...

I downloaded Twitter my senior year of high school because the theater competition was going to post event winners on the twitter and update the event throughout the week. Since then, I use it to check on news and my friends who have moved away to college. I have also seen the negative side of twitter due to bullying or mass negative conversations. Today, the school of theater uses twitter to live tweet about the bi-semester "All School Forum. People post funny comments or opinions in live time with a hashtag. Having a digital divide with students in the classroom is something that teachers tend to overlook. I got to see and example of this a year ago when I observed at FSUS. There was an in class assignment that a student didn't finish and she had to come up with a plan to come in early to class the next day and finish it due to not having internet set up in their house. The ELA technology standards describes what different skills students should be able to use and understand at certain grade levels. For 9th and 10th grade, most of the standards revolve around digital tools to help express reasoning, research, or present ideas. I am very comfortable working with things like Excel and Prezi as well as google sheets or slides for individual or group projects. Because I am going into the arts, having an eye for design or creativity will be important in my assignments and classroom. There were a lot of tools on this standards list that I have never heard of before so I will need to learn about them and see if there is a better tool for Theater projects.
